Areas we cover across Coventry
We come to you — at home, at work, or wherever the car is sat
D&E Auto Repairs to You covers Coventry and the areas immediately around it. Staying local is deliberate: less time driving means we reach you faster and you are not paying for our travel.
Why we keep our patch tight
Plenty of mobile mechanics advertise a coverage area that stretches across three counties. We do not, and it is a deliberate decision rather than a limitation.
Every hour spent driving is an hour not spent fixing vehicles. A mechanic covering a fifty-mile radius either turns up late, charges you for the travel, or rushes the job to make the next one. By working Coventry and the areas immediately around it, we can reach emergency callouts quickly, keep our pricing where it is, and still give each job the time it needs.
If you are just outside the areas listed below, it is still worth a call. We would rather tell you honestly on the phone than have you wondering.
Coventry areas we cover
We work right across the city. These are the areas we are called out to most often — if yours is not listed, it almost certainly still falls within our patch. Areas marked View page have their own page with local detail on parking, access and the sort of work we do there.
Just outside the city
We also cover a number of towns and villages close to the Coventry boundary, including Bedworth, Exhall, Kenilworth, Baginton, Ryton-on-Dunsmore, Wolston, Brinklow and Bulkington.
We also cover Nuneaton and have a dedicated page for it — see mobile mechanic Nuneaton.
Further out than that and it becomes a conversation rather than a rule. Give us your postcode when you call and we will tell you straight away whether we can get to you.
What we need to work on your car
This is the question we get asked most, and it matters more than the postcode does. A mobile repair needs somewhere safe to work — and Coventry housing varies enormously in what it offers.
If you have a driveway or off-street parking, we are straightforward. Most of the interwar and postwar housing across Coundon, Holbrooks, Keresley, Allesley and Eastern Green has this, and it is the easiest scenario for both of us.
If you are on a terraced street with on-street parking only — common across Foleshill, Radford, Earlsdon and parts of Wyken — we can still work, but we need a reasonably clear kerbside space with room to get a jack and axle stands alongside the car safely. A space directly outside your house is ideal. If parking is tight on your street, tell us when you book and we will suggest a time when it is usually quieter.
If you live on an estate with parking courts or communal bays, as in parts of Tile Hill, Canley and Willenhall, it is usually fine but worth mentioning on the phone so we know what to expect on arrival.
What we cannot do is work in a multi-storey car park, on a red route, or anywhere the vehicle cannot be safely raised. If that is your situation, call us anyway and we will work out the best option.
How quickly can we get to you
Because we are Coventry-based and stay within the area, most of the city is a short drive for us. Response time depends far more on how booked up we already are that day than on which part of Coventry you are in.
For an emergency — a car that will not start, a failed clutch, a brake problem that makes the vehicle unsafe — call rather than message. Have your postcode, vehicle registration and a description of the fault ready, and we can bring the right parts on the first visit rather than making two trips.

Frequently asked questions
Which parts of Coventry do you cover?
All of it. We are called out most often to Foleshill, Radford, Coundon, Holbrooks, Keresley, Longford, Allesley, Eastern Green, Earlsdon, Tile Hill, Canley, Cheylesmore, Whitley, Willenhall, Binley and Wyken, but that is a reflection of demand rather than a boundary. If you are within the Coventry ring road area or the suburbs around it, we cover you.
Do you cover areas outside Coventry?
Yes, but we keep it close. We regularly work in Bedworth, Exhall, Kenilworth, Baginton, Ryton-on-Dunsmore, Wolston, Brinklow and Bulkington, and we have a dedicated Nuneaton service. Beyond that it depends on the job and how busy we are — call us with your postcode and we will give you a straight answer rather than a maybe.
Why do you not cover a wider area?
Because covering a wide area makes the service worse, not better. Time spent driving across three counties is time not spent working on vehicles, and it has to be paid for somewhere — usually in the price, or in how long you wait. Keeping our patch tight is what lets us reach emergency callouts quickly and keep our pricing competitive.
Do you charge a callout fee?
There is no separate callout charge added on top of the work, and no area we cover is priced differently to another. Where you already know what the job is, the quote is one figure covering parts, labour and the visit. Where the fault has to be found first, that diagnostic work is charged in its own right, because identifying a fault properly is skilled work rather than a formality before the real job.
Can you work on my car if I live on a terraced street with no driveway?
In most cases yes, and it is one of the questions we get asked most. Whether it works comes down to kerbside space rather than the house itself — we need enough clear road alongside the car to get a jack and axle stands in safely. Streets across Foleshill, Radford, Earlsdon and parts of Wyken are terraced with no off-street parking and we work them all the time. If your road is normally full by the time you get home from work, tell us and we will come earlier in the day.
How quickly can you get to me?
It depends far more on how full the day already is than on which part of the city you are in — we are Coventry-based, so nowhere in our patch is a long drive. The thing that genuinely speeds it up is what you tell us on the phone. Postcode, registration and a description of the symptoms lets us load the likely parts before setting off, which is often the difference between one visit and two.
Where exactly will you work on my vehicle?
Wherever it is safe to do so — a driveway, an off-street parking space, a workplace car park, or a kerbside space on a residential street. What we cannot do is work in a multi-storey car park, on a red route, or anywhere the vehicle cannot be safely raised. If you are unsure about your situation, describe it when you call and we will tell you whether it works.
What should I have ready before you arrive?
Your keys, your vehicle registration, and if you have it, the service history or any paperwork from previous work relating to the fault. If another garage has already looked at the problem, telling us what they did and what they replaced saves us repeating it. Beyond that, nothing — we bring all the tools and equipment with us.
