Mobile mechanic Bedworth
Repairs, servicing and diagnostics at your home or workplace
D&E Auto Repairs to You cover Bedworth, Collycroft, Exhall, Ash Green and Goodyers End. We are Coventry-based and straight up the A444, so Bedworth is a short run for us — no recovery, no garage drop-off, no waiting room.
A mobile mechanic on Bedworth's doorstep
Bedworth sits five miles up the A444 from us, which makes it one of the quickest places we get to outside Coventry itself. That matters more than it sounds. A mobile mechanic covering half the Midlands is either late, expensive, or rushing to the next job — whereas for us, Bedworth is a short run.
We handle repairs, servicing and diagnostics at your home, your workplace, or wherever the vehicle is sat. Daryl and Kieran between them have over 30 years in the trade, main dealer training behind them, and a van that carries the tools to fix most faults on the first visit. Read more about us.
What we do in Bedworth
Working on Bedworth's streets
Bedworth's housing is not all one thing, and for a mobile mechanic the difference is practical rather than academic. Where we can park and how much room there is around the car decides how a job goes.
The older terraced streets around the town centre and Collycroft date from Bedworth's mining and hat-making years. They are handsome streets but they were not built for two cars per household — on-street parking only, no driveways, and often nowhere to pull fully off the road. We work on these streets regularly. What we need is a reasonably clear kerbside space with enough room to get a jack and axle stands alongside the vehicle safely. If your road is usually packed by early evening, say so when you book and we will pick a time when it tends to be clearer.
The postwar and later estates at Bedworth Heath, Ash Green and Goodyers End are a different proposition entirely — driveways, garages and side access are common, which makes them among the easiest jobs we do. If you have off-street parking, we are straightforward.
The newer developments around the edges of the town often use parking courts or allocated bays rather than individual driveways. Usually fine, but worth mentioning on the phone so we know what we are arriving to.
The A444 and M6 corridor
A decent share of our Bedworth callouts are not at the customer's home at all — they are people who have broken down on the run between Bedworth and Coventry, or coming off the M6 at junction 3. Being based where we are means we can usually reach that corridor quickly.
If you are stopped somewhere unsafe, make the vehicle safe first and call the police or highways if you are on a live carriageway. Once you are somewhere we can work, call us and we will get to you. More on how that works on our emergency mechanic page.
What it costs
We do not add a separate callout charge on top of the work. If you already know what the job is — a clutch, new brakes, an alternator — we give you a single quote covering parts, labour and coming out to you, so the figure we quote is the figure you pay.
If you do not know what is wrong and need us to find out, there is a charge for the diagnostic work itself, because finding the fault properly is the job. Either way you will know the cost before we start, and we will not add anything to it without telling you first.

Frequently asked questions
Do you actually cover Bedworth, or just Coventry?
We genuinely cover Bedworth. We are Coventry-based and Bedworth is around five miles up the A444, which makes it one of the quickest places we reach outside the city. We work across Bedworth itself plus Collycroft, Exhall, Ash Green, Goodyers End, Bedworth Heath and Bulkington.
Can you work on my car if I live on a terraced street with no driveway?
Yes, and we do it regularly — much of central Bedworth and Collycroft is terraced with on-street parking only. What we need is a reasonably clear kerbside space with enough room to get a jack and axle stands alongside the vehicle safely. If parking on your street is usually tight, mention it when you book and we can pick a time of day when it tends to be quieter.
Do you charge extra to come out to Bedworth?
No. We do not add a separate callout charge, and Bedworth is not treated differently to Coventry. If you know what the job is, we quote one price covering parts, labour and coming out to you. If you need us to diagnose a fault first, there is a charge for the diagnostic work itself. You will know the cost before we start either way.
I have broken down between Bedworth and Coventry. Can you come out?
Yes — the A444 corridor and the area around M6 junction 3 is territory we cover often. Make the vehicle safe first, and if you are on a live carriageway call the police or highways before anything else. Once you are somewhere it is safe for us to work, call us on 0247 610 4000 with your location and registration.
How quickly can you get to me in Bedworth?
Bedworth is a short run for us, so how quickly we reach you depends far more on how booked up the day already is than on the distance. For anything urgent, call rather than message, and have your postcode, registration and a description of the fault ready so we can bring the right parts on the first visit.
My car has been to a garage already and the fault is still there. Can you help?
Very often, yes - it is a large part of what we do. The usual story is that a code was read and the component named in it was swapped, but a code only ever points at the circuit, not the cause. We put an oscilloscope on the part and look at the signal it is genuinely producing, which separates a failed component from one that is accurately reporting trouble somewhere else. Tell us what has already been replaced and we will pick up from there rather than repeating it.
Do you carry out MOTs in Bedworth?
No. MOT testing can only legally be carried out at DVSA-approved test premises, and we are fully mobile. Kieran did hold an MOT tester licence for over 13 years before we went mobile, so we can carry out a thorough pre-MOT check and tell you honestly what would pass and what would not - but the test itself has to be booked at an approved centre.
Do you work on vans as well as cars?
Yes. Both of us have main dealer experience on Mercedes-Benz trucks and vans, and Daryl started his career on large commercial vehicles before moving back to cars. We work on vans of all makes across Bedworth and the surrounding area.
